Here you can buy specialties like Iberian pata negra ham, local bloedworst (blood sausage) and a tasty rough raisin bread. Carrefour express BRUGGE ZUIDZANDSTRAAT is a big supermarket chain. At Carrefour supermarket you can find, buy all the necessities and all the ingredients you might need on a daily basis such as: fruits, veggies, meat, milk and dairy, pasta, rice, water, soda etc.. The supermarket offers home delivery services as well. A cozy coffee corner has been placed at the entrance. The store will also be open on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Restaurants Bruges cuisine has a Flemish cuisine and is known for its fries and waffles, as well as beef stew, Belgian endive, and of course, Brussels sprouts. If you're still in Belgium, be sure to try the beef stew with beer sauce, the famous seashells, chocolate and waffles (especially those with chocolate and strawberries) accompanied by a glass of Belgian beer. If you are on a low budget and you want to take a break from the kitchen while you are on your holidays, Bocca is the perfect restaurant that serves big portions and delicious homemade pastas with a generous portion of cheese on it, smoked salmon, sandwiches and salads at a low price. They have vegan options: the vegetarian sauce, arrabiata, red pesto, green pesto. You will find this restaurant located very central in a quiet street. You can also opt to take away the food or have it delivered to your home or office. The Belgians invented the french fries. The Potato Bar serves 100% Belgian fries cooked to perfection and sauces blended with the perfect ingredients and local flavored croquettes, with extraordinary toppings, and try their flame-grilled burgers on a soft brioche bun. They also serve the classic beef burger, there’s also a crispy fried chicken burger and a vegan option. Bistro Den Amand, located in the middle of the Old Town in a surprisingly quiet alleyway, serves a variety of delicious traditional Belgian food such as: meat, fish, pasta and French fries in addition to many wonderful items, fresh salads. This bistro has only six tables that offers great French-Belgian cuisine and is frequented by both tourists and locals. The restaurant kitchen is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 12 am - 2 pm and from 6 pm - 9 pm. They are closed Sunday and Monday. Nightlife Bruges has a lot to offer to the tourists and among the best things to do is to experience the nightlife with its plenty of pubs from where to choose to hang out. They serve no less than 140 different beers in house. A must beer you must taste is the Tripel van De Garre, it is its own beer, a very good and very strong beer and you can only drink 3 De Garre tripel per person. The Tripel van De Garre beer comes accompanied by snacks. De Coulissenis is a lounge bar and dance café, housed in a historic building in the center of Bruges. It might be a bit expensive but that is something normal when you go to a bar or lounge. There is good music, a great place to go out dancing, a lot of different things to drink and a really good party ambiance so definitely a recommendation! Every Friday and Saturday there’s sure to be a party over there! @ The Pub Bruges is situated in the gallery of hotel 't Koffieboontje, in the heart of Bruges. This pub is happy to welcome anyone who wants to taste a wide range of more than 80 different Belgian beers and an extensive cocktail list. Tourist attractions On a holiday in Belgium for a few days you can see much of this small country. The Choco-Story museum is housed in a building that dates back to the 15th century. The museum displays the history of chocolate, from the Mayan civilisation's cacao drink to modern day chocolates. Children can explore the museum via a fun chocolate search game. At the end of the tour the visitors are shown how chocolate is made and are given free samples. The Belfry tower is a medieval bell tower and one of the city symbols. The tower is a protected monument and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Belgium as well. The tower has 366 steps to climb and at each level you can rest and learn something before moving up. Reaching the top you can have a breathtaking panoramic view of the old city with canals and other churches and towers. As a hint for you: weekends will be more crowded, so you might not be allowed to climb the 366 stairs but weekdays will be less crowded and you might climb to the top. The Groeninge Municipal Museum is home to a collection of artwork of unique depth and quality that spans over six centuries. Museum offers a varied overview of the history of Belgian plastic arts. The museum has a great digital tour that provides you plenty of information, as well as some audio snippets detailing the artworks. The first three Rooms will guide you through the origins and evolution of the art of painting in Flanders during the XV century. There are other collections as well, like early caricatures, so there's a little something for everyone. The museum is located along the Dijver canal and Arentshof garden and the opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 to 17:00. Bruges is on the list of cities to visit.
